Black Locust Series

Once upon a time, some fifty years ago there were two big black locust trees standing on the edges of a good sized garden. If I close my eyes I can still see them in their summer glory, or winter misery -it depends. Anyway, they were cut down, suddenly, then were laid down  in the garden on concrete blocks. Then they was waiting under the sun, sin now, in rain, in summer heat, and in winter frost. They was not burned in the boiler, because they were simply too good for that. But nothing was built out of them either. Then the house was sold, so I returned to pick up the things, I might find precious because of my own nostalgic reasons. Then, I somehow got sight of them laying there on open air.., and I thought,: maybe, I could prolong their existence, with another hundred years-if we are lucky,  So I cut them up and now I am  turning them into something nice.  It is not easy. This is tough, brittle stuff, and the weather had its effect, but black locust is special and still looks spectacular. Well, most  of the twentieth  century is closed in their rings, after all. That is something, isnt it?

The boxes may be a bit rugged,  with fine scars and  cracks, and just a bit too robust, but look really nice, and priced modestly, to find their place on your shelves.
